Each emerald is selected individually for its colour, proportion, transparency and the way it presents on the hand. Rather than looking for a perfectly uniform stone, we favour emeralds with a rich, lively green and a sense of natural depth and character.
Laboratory-grown emeralds are selected for a convincing natural appearance, including subtle internal characteristics rather than an overly flawless or glass-like finish.
Natural emeralds vary considerably from stone to stone. Inclusions are an inherent and accepted part of emeralds, and can form part of their individual character. Colour, transparency, treatment, origin and the nature of those inclusions all influence the final price. Natural stones are therefore sourced specifically for each piece.

Emeralds above 3.00ct are price on application. Final pricing will reflect the individual stone, including its dimensions, colour, transparency, treatment and origin where relevant, as well as any bespoke changes to the design.
Where applicable, natural emeralds are accompanied by an independent gemmological report identifying the stone and any detectable treatments. Selected stones may also include geographic origin where this can be determined.
Every MARLII LAB engagement ring includes complimentary engraving and a complimentary first resize where the design allows. MARLII LAB engagement and wedding rings are covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing faults, with ongoing repair assessment, care guidance and support available for the life of the piece.
Every MARLII LAB engagement ring is made to order and crafted by hand in Australia. Please allow 10-12 weeks once your design and centre diamond are confirmed.
The setting is made around the proportions of your chosen diamond rather than pulled from stock or adapted from a finished ring. The timeframe gives the workshop room to make and finish the piece properly, without rushing the details that matter.
