Every MARLII LAB piece begins with the stone—its proportions, movement, colour, character and the feeling it creates.
We work with a considered selection of natural and laboratory-grown diamonds, coloured gemstones and, where available, genuinely antique or reclaimed stones. The origin of every stone is clearly disclosed.
The documentation supplied depends on the stone and may include an independent grading report, country- or mine-of-origin records, chain-of-custody documentation and relevant third-party certification. We explain exactly what is known, how it has been verified and where the limits of that information lie.
Our natural diamonds are selected through approved supply partners and accepted only where the available provenance documentation meets our sourcing standard. Each stone is individually assessed for beauty, proportion and character, as well as the evidence accompanying its journey through the supply chain.
Our laboratory-grown diamonds are clearly identified and selected to the same design standards: beautiful proportions, considered cutting and individual character. Where we make claims about a grower, production method, energy source or environmental performance, those claims are supported by specific documentation.
A genuinely antique or reclaimed stone has already lived a life before arriving at MARLII LAB. Where age or prior use can be substantiated, we describe it accordingly. Newly produced stones cut in an old-world style are described as antique-cut—not antique.
