The horizontal orientation softens the formality of the marquise and lets its warm colour sit low and wide on the hand. We select the centre stone for tone, outline and life rather than aiming for a perfectly standardised shade.
The result is graphic, warm and a little unexpected.

For this colour-led design, the centre diamond is selected for tone, cut and character rather than an E-F colour grade. Champagne colour exists on a spectrum, so the exact shade and dimensions will vary from stone to stone. For a white-diamond version of this setting, our starting quality is E-F colour and VS1-VS2 clarity.
Every MARLII LAB engagement ring is made to order and crafted by hand in Australia. Please allow 10-12 weeks once your design and centre diamond are confirmed.
The setting is made around the proportions of your chosen diamond rather than pulled from stock or adapted from a finished ring. The timeframe gives the workshop room to make and finish the piece properly, without rushing the details that matter.
