Description
Each centre diamond is selected individually for colour, facet pattern, proportion and how it presents on the hand. Unlike colourless diamonds, fancy yellow diamonds are valued first for the strength, evenness and character of their colour. Starting prices are based on Fancy Yellow colour and VS1-VS2 clarity, with each centre diamond accompanied by its independent IGI or GIA grading report.
Old mine cuts are selected for their softened cushion outline, broader facets and more individual proportions. Two stones of the same carat weight can look quite different, and with fancy yellow diamonds the facet pattern also affects how the colour is held and returned. We select for face-up presence, balance and a rich, even yellow rather than the carat number alone. For laboratory-grown stones, “old mine” describes the antique-inspired cut character rather than the age of the diamond.
On timing
Made to order and crafted by hand in Australia. Please allow 10–12 weeks once your design and centre diamond are confirmed.
The setting is made around the proportions of your chosen diamond rather than pulled from stock or adapted from a finished ring. The timeframe gives the workshop room to finish the piece properly.
If you are working to a proposal, travel or celebration date, an express making service may be available for an additional fee, subject to workshop capacity. Please tell us your date before ordering.
Client care
Made to order. Each ring is made individually after your stone is confirmed — in our Sydney workshop for clients in Australia, and at our partner workshop in London for clients in the United Kingdom.
Stone documentation. You receive the grading report for your stone where one exists, along with a written statement of origin: natural, laboratory-grown, reclaimed or antique. Where a stone's history cannot be verified, we say so.
Resizing. Engagement rings include one complimentary resize within twelve months of delivery, where the design allows. Some settings cannot be resized without compromising the structure, and we will say so at the time of order. Wedding bands are made to the size you supply; altering one afterwards is possible on most designs and is quoted individually.
Warranty. Lifetime warranty against manufacturing fault.
Shipping. Complimentary worldwide, fully insured and signature-required. Rings for UK clients are made and dispatched within the United Kingdom, so there are no import duties or customs charges to pay on arrival.
After delivery. Resizing, repairs and warranty are handled by our team in Adelaide, who took your order and know the piece. For clients in the United Kingdom, the work itself is carried out at our London workshop, so nothing needs to cross a border.
Returns. Made-to-order pieces are not returnable. We would rather you saw the ring first, in person or in film.

Say it plainly.
Whoever buys this will be frightened of getting it wrong. That is the only real problem here, and it is easily solved. Send it to them, and add anything you would change.
