The stone comes first
Two reports can look almost the same. The stones may not.
Old-mine and antique-style diamonds are judged in movement: how they spread, where the weight sits, what happens when a broad facet moves from bright to quiet, and how the outline reads on the hand. Lucinda selects every centre stone in person before the setting is finalised.
The MARLII Cutaway
Most settings close the space beneath a diamond. We cut it away.
The gallery is sculpted open after the centre diamond is chosen. Light can reach the pavilion from below, the ring can sit closer to the finger, and a straight wedding band can still sit flush. The same setting made for two different stones is not the same piece of metal.

Lucinda selects every diamond MARLII LAB sets and remains involved through the setting decision. What she is looking for — spread, balance, movement and the relationship between stone and profile — is not contained in a grading report.
The range
A clear place to begin.
Complete made-to-order engagement rings begin from AU$5,900. The final figure depends principally on the centre stone, its origin and the setting. You will receive complete-ring context before being asked to reserve a stone or pay a deposit.
Made singly, not drawn from stock.
Each ring is made after its centre stone is chosen. Standard production is usually 10–12 weeks after the design, size and deposit are confirmed. More complex commissions may require longer; the timeframe is stated before production begins.
Supported after delivery.
Engagement and wedding rings carry a lifetime manufacturing warranty in addition to applicable consumer rights. One complimentary resize is available within 12 months under the published terms.
Designed by Lucinda and made by the same small Sydney workshop used from the beginning. Private-viewing dates are published when confirmed; virtual stone appointments run year-round. Insured Australian delivery, local resizing and aftercare are handled by the MARLII LAB team.

Questions
Is the starting price for the complete ring?
Yes. The stated starting price is for a complete made-to-order ring at the entry specification shown for the market, not the setting alone. Your written proposal identifies the stone, setting, metal, delivery and any market-specific charges.
Can I compare natural and laboratory-grown diamonds?
Yes. Origin is stated clearly for every stone. Lucinda can show what the same finished-ring budget makes possible in each route without presenting one as the morally correct choice.
Do I need to know the ring size?
No. Ring size can be established later, and there are discreet ways to estimate it when the purchase is a surprise.
Can a straight wedding band sit flush?
On Cutaway settings, that relationship is designed deliberately. We will show the side profile and band fit before you proceed.
Do I need to book a call immediately?
No. The first response can remain by email. A live appointment is suggested only when seeing stones or settings together would help the decision.
